Invasive Species
At It’s All Sacred, we honor the Earth by protecting ecosystems from harm. Invasive species—plants, herbs, or seeds that disrupt local environments—are restricted to preserve biodiversity.
Your Responsibilities as a Vendor
Research First:
Verify that your live plants/seeds are not prohibited anywhere in the US or in the buyer’s region.
Check USDA Plant Regulations or EU Invasive Species List for guidance.
- Transparent Listings:
- Label shipments with scientific names (e.g., “Eucalyptus globulus” vs. “generic eucalyptus”).
- Disclose risks: “This seed is native to South America—check local regulations before planting.”
- Safe Shipping:
- Use pest-free packaging (required for international orders).
- Obtain phytosanitary certificates if shipping across borders.
- Transparent Listings:
Seller Responsibilities
- Research your country’s Controlled Substances Act and agricultural import laws.
- Disclose ingredients fully (e.g., “This herbal blend contains damiana, which is legal in the U.S. but restricted in [Country X]”).
- Buyer warnings: “Check your local laws before purchasing.”
3. HARM, HATE & EXPLOITATION
- Hate Symbols & Extremism
- Nazi imagery, racist literature, or items promoting violence.
- Exception: Historical/educational items (e.g., anti-racism books) must clarify context in descriptions.
- Live Animals
- Endangered, Threatened or At-Risk animal parts
- These are defined or listed in the US Endangered Species Act or in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
- Cat and dog parts of pelts
We prohibit the sale of:
- Ivory from any animal source (including but not limited to elephant, walrus, narwhal, hippopotamus, and mammoth)
- Products containing ivory, regardless of age or origin (antique, fossilized, or “pre-ban” ivory)
- Bone or other materials from ivory-producing species when used as ivory substitutes
- This includes:
- Whole tusks or ivory pieces
- Carved or worked ivory items
- Jewelry containing ivory components
- Elk “ivory” teeth or other dental ivory
- Woolly mammoth ivory (fossilized or otherwise)
- Human Remains
- Bones, ashes, or other human-derived items
- Exceptions: Teeth, nails, hair and non-consumable items made with breast-milk
Why we prohibit this:
These materials often come from threatened or endangered species, and their trade may violate international conservation laws (CITES) regardless of the item’s age. Even legally obtained ivory can fuel demand that endangers living animals.
Alternatives we encourage:
- Plant-based alternatives (tagua nut, palm ivory)
- Ethically sourced bone from non-threatened species (with documentation)
- Stone, wood, or resin carvings
- Vintage/recycled materials that don’t endanger wildlife
- Non-Consensual Items
- Spells/rituals targeting specific individuals without their consent (e.g., “love spells for [name]”).
4. SPIRITUAL & CULTURAL GUIDELINES
- Cultural Appropriation
- Items from closed traditions (e.g., Indigenous white sage bundles, Voodoo dolls) unless made by credentialed members of that culture.
- Allowed with disclosure: “Inspired by” items (e.g., “This altar cloth features Celtic knotwork—I’m a practitioner of Irish descent”).
- Guaranteed Outcomes
- Medical claims: “Cures depression” → “May support emotional balance.”
- Absolute spiritual promises: “100% success love spell” → “Ritual kit for attracting love.”
- Animal Cruelty
- Endangered animal parts (e.g., ivory, tiger bones).
- Allowed with proof: Ethically sourced feathers, bones (e.g., “Chicken bones from food waste”).
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
