Invasive Species

At It’s All Sacred, we honor the Earth by protecting ecosystems from harm. Invasive species—plants, herbs, or seeds that disrupt local environments—are restricted to preserve biodiversity.

Your Responsibilities as a Vendor

    • Transparent Listings:
      • Label shipments with scientific names (e.g., “Eucalyptus globulus” vs. “generic eucalyptus”).
      • Disclose risks: “This seed is native to South America—check local regulations before planting.”
    • Safe Shipping:
      • Use pest-free packaging (required for international orders).
      • Obtain phytosanitary certificates if shipping across borders.

Seller Responsibilities

  • Research your country’s Controlled Substances Act and agricultural import laws.
  • Disclose ingredients fully (e.g., “This herbal blend contains damiana, which is legal in the U.S. but restricted in [Country X]”).
  • Buyer warnings: “Check your local laws before purchasing.”

3. HARM, HATE & EXPLOITATION

Hate Symbols & Extremism

Unacceptable Offerings

  • Explicit Prohibition: The sale and distribution of any items that feature or promote hate symbols, including but not limited to Nazi imagery, Ku Klux Klan memorabilia, or items that feature symbols associated with racial hatred or extremist ideologies, are strictly prohibited. This also encompasses literature, artwork, and any other items that could be interpreted as promoting violence, hatred, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other intrinsic characteristics.
  • Promotion of Violence: Items that directly encourage, glorify, or incite violence against any individual or group are not permitted under any circumstances. This includes materials that may indirectly support or promote extremist ideologies or actions through symbols or coded language.

Exceptions and Contextual Use

  • Educational Materials: Items that could potentially contain sensitive content are allowed under strict conditions where their purpose is to educate and inform against hate and extremism. Examples include:
    • Anti-racism books: These must include detailed descriptions explaining their educational intent and the contexts they address.
Historical documentaries or literature: Materials explaining historical events involving hate groups, such as documentaries about World War II, must clearly describe their educational purpose in the product description.
  • Art and Media with Critical Context: Artistic expressions that depict historical events or critique hate ideologies must provide clear context in their descriptions to ensure viewers understand their intent is to condemn or educate about the depicted behaviors, not promote them.

Additional Guidelines

  • Clear Context in Descriptions: Sellers must ensure all items listed under the exception category have a detailed description that provides context. This should include why the item is important, its educational value, and explicit clarification that it does not support but rather critiques or educates about hate and extremism.
  • Monitoring and Enforcement: Platform moderators will actively monitor listings for compliance with these guidelines. Any items found violating the policy will be removed immediately, and the sellers will be subject to penalties including potential bans from the platform.
  • Community Education: It is advised to provide additional resources about identifying hate symbols and the importance of understanding context in historical and educational materials. This can be in the form of blog posts, forums discussions, and educational links.

Live Animals

  • No Live Animals of ANY KIND
  • Strict Prohibition on Endangered Animal Products: No items or materials derived from endangered or threatened species, as recognized by international conservation lists (e.g., CITES), will be permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, ivory, tiger bones, rhinoceros horn, or any other parts from animals that are at risk of extinction due to human activities. Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
  • Cat and dog parts of pelts

Permissible Items with Documentation and Transparency

  • Evidence of Ethical Sourcing: Sellers are permitted to offer products that include animal parts such as feathers or bones, only under the strict condition that these materials are ethically sourced and do not contribute to animal cruelty. For instance, “Chicken bones from food waste,” where the remains are sourced from animals that were processed for food and would otherwise be discarded, may be allowed.
  • Requirement for Proof: Sellers must provide verifiable documentation upon request that demonstrates the ethical provenance of the animal materials used in their products. This documentation should be from a reliable source and trace the materials back to a cruelty-free origin.

We Prohibit the Sale of:

  • Ivory from any animal source (including but not limited to elephant, walrus, narwhal, hippopotamus, and mammoth)
  • Products containing ivory, regardless of age or origin (antique, fossilized, or “pre-ban” ivory)

    • Bones, ashes, or other human-derived items
    • Exceptions: Teeth, nails, hair and non-consumable items made with breast-milk

Why we prohibit this:
These materials often come from threatened or endangered species, and their trade may violate international conservation laws (CITES) regardless of the item’s age. Even legally obtained ivory can fuel demand that endangers living animals.

Alternatives we encourage:

    • Plant-based alternatives (tagua nut, palm ivory)
    • Ethically sourced bone from non-threatened species (with documentation)
    • Stone, wood, or resin carvings
    • Vintage/recycled materials that don’t endanger wildlife

4. SPIRITUAL & CULTURAL GUIDELINES

Encouraging Mindful Representation

  • Self-Regulation: While each individual shops manages their inventory, we highly encourage each seller to be mindful of cultural appropriation. Sellers should consider the cultural origin and significance of the items they offer and avoid misrepresenting or disrespecting cultural symbols and practices.

Creative Interpretation with Respect

  • Cultural Inspirations: We understand the importance of cultural heritage and encourage respectful and informed creative interpretations. When drawing inspiration from different cultures, we advise sellers to include clear disclosures that communicate the extent of their connection to the culture and the inspiration behind their products.
  • Inclusive and Respectful Marketing: Sellers should be deliberate in how they market their products, emphasizing respect and inclusivity. Avoid language or representations that could be seen as diminishing or caricaturing the cultural elements in question.

Accountability and Community Standards

  • Seller Accountability: We trust our sellers to make ethical decisions regarding their product lines. However, should concerns about cultural insensitivity arise, we will engage with the seller to address these issues in keeping with our community standards.
  • Feedback and Dialogue: We are committed to fostering an open and respectful dialogue on cultural representation. Sellers and buyers are invited to provide feedback on products, which can help enhance mutual understanding and respect for different cultures within our marketplace.

5. RESPONSIBLE REPRESENTATION OF BENEFITS

Realistic Descriptions and Integrity in Marketing

  • Balanced Medical Claims: DO NOT make definitive medical claims, such as stating a product “Cures anxiety,” sellers are required to use tempered language that reflects the potential benefits without overpromising. For example, “May support emotional balance” offers a more conservative, non-absolute claim that a product might contribute to an individual’s well-being without asserting a guaranteed outcome.
  • Respectful Representation of Spiritual Efficacy: Claims of spiritual services and products should be presented in a way that respects their subjective and personal nature. Rather than guaranteeing particular results, such as “100% success love spell,” sellers are encouraged to describe their offerings as “Ritual kit for attracting love,” highlighting the intended purpose without assuring specific results.

Evidence-Based Claims and Avoidance of Misrepresentation

  • Avoidance of Absolute Language: Products related to spirituality, personal growth, or emotional support should not promise explicit outcomes. Phrasing should be centered on the product’s potential use or role in a broader personal or spiritual practice, rather than assuring any form of guaranteed success.
  • Support with Scientific Consensus: Any health-related claim should be compatible with current scientific consensus and clearly stated as a supportive measure rather than a definitive cure. It is vital to avoid giving customers a false sense of certainty about the health benefits of products, and all descriptions should be crafted with caution and honesty.

Customer Education and Realistic Expectations

  • Informative Product Descriptions: Sellers are encouraged to provide insightful information about the use and background of their products, allowing customers to make informed choices with realistic expectations about the potential benefits.
  • Disclosure and Transparency: Full transparency should be maintained regarding the nature and intention of products. Sellers must ensure that any claim made about the potential benefits of a product is clear, easily understood, and does not exploit customer vulnerabilities or lack of knowledge.
  •

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Prohibited Items: Counterfeit and Plagiarized Goods

  • Counterfeit Goods: Absolutely no counterfeit items, including replicas of branded products, unauthorized copies of copyrighted materials, or any goods that infringe upon another’s intellectual property rights. This encompasses any replicas of original tarot decks, unauthorized reproductions of copyrighted spellbooks in the form of PDFs, or any other items that mimic or replicate someone else’s work without authorization.
  • Plagiarism and Unauthorized Use: The sale or distribution of plagiarized material, which includes not only direct copies but also any work that is substantially similar to existing copyrighted works without clear, distinct, and significant alterations or contributions, is strictly prohibited. This policy is in place to protect the originality and copyright of creators across mediums.

Permitted Items: Original and Inspired Works

  • Original Designs and Inspirations: Creators are encouraged to sell and share their original works, including artwork, writings, and items inspired by mythologies, folklore, or historical tales. Original interpretations and creations, such as a “Persephone illustration—my original art,” where the seller infuses personal creativity and unique interpretation, are highly supported.
  • Clarification on “Inspired by”: When stating that an item is inspired by mythological or public domain characters, it should be clearly differentiated from any modern copyrighted interpretations of those characters. The work must be the seller’s own and not a derivative of copyrighted designs or stories.

7. USE OF CELEBRITY NAMES AND ENDORSEMENTS

Prohibited Misuse of Celebrity Names

  • False Endorsement Claims: Items, descriptions, or marketing materials implying that a product is endorsed by, favored by, or associated with a public figure or celebrity without verifiable consent or proof of endorsement are prohibited. Misleading claims, such as stating a product is “Taylor Swift’s favorite crystal,” without her explicit endorsement, violate this policy.

Guidelines for Appropriate Use

  • No Implication of Endorsement: Sellers must avoid any implication that their product is officially endorsed or sponsored by a celebrity or public figure unless they have explicit permission to make such claims. Documentation of endorsement or sponsorship must be made available upon request by platform administrators.
  • Factual Statements Only: If a celebrity has publicly mentioned or endorsed a product, sellers can refer to this only in a factual manner and where it can be easily verified by a reputable source. Any usage of a celebrity’s name should not imply a personal relationship or direct endorsement without proof.

8. DIGITAL PRODUCTS & SERVICES

Unacceptable Practices

  • Misleading Services
    • Specific Prohibitions: Offering services that claim to provide psychic readings, spiritual messages, or other intangible outcomes through deceitful means, such as utilizing AI without disclosure to generate “channeled” messages, is strictly forbidden. These practices are misleading and exploit the trust of the consumer.
    • Transparency Requirements: Sellers must be transparent about the nature of their services. Any tool or method used in providing the service, especially if involving technology or methodologies that might not be traditionally associated with the service offered, must be clearly disclosed.
  • Reselling of Digital Files
    • Intellectual Property Violations: The resale of ebooks, spell templates, courses, or any digital goods not originally created by the seller, or for which the seller does not have explicit resale rights, is prohibited. This includes items purchased or acquired from other platforms or creators.
Copyright Compliance: Sellers are responsible for ensuring they have the right to distribute and sell any digital content on their platform. Proof of ownership or resell permission may be required for verification.
    • Allowed: Genuine intuitive readings with clear disclaimers (“For entertainment only”).

Acceptable Offerings

  • Genuine Intuitive Readings and Services
    • Clarity and Disclaimers: Services based on personal skills, such as tarot reading, astrology, or intuitive coaching, are permitted. However, they must come with clear disclaimers stating the nature of the service (e.g., “For entertainment purposes only”), to avoid misleading clients about the scientific or evidential basis of the services.
    • Ethical Guidelines: Sellers offering these services should adhere to ethical guidelines, ensuring they do not exploit or manipulate clients’ emotions or beliefs. Providing a safe, respectful, and transparent service is paramount.
  • Original Digital Goods
    • Creator-Owned Content: Sellers are encouraged to create and sell original digital products such as ebooks, courses, design templates, or art. These offerings must be the creator’s original work or appropriately licensed for resale.
    • Transparency and Documentation: When selling digital goods, clearly detailing the nature of the product, any usage rights, and limitations (e.g., for personal use only, not for resale) helps maintain an honest and trustworthy platform environment.

Guiding Principles for Digital Offerings

  1. Transparency: Always be clear and upfront about the nature of the digital product or service offered.
  2. Authenticity: Ensure all digital products and services are genuine and do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
  3. Ethical Conduct: Maintain high ethical standards in selling practices, especially when offering services that depend on personal belief or interpretation.
